“From an absolute-performance perspective, including errors of commission, we saw meaningful weakness in our software, credit bureau, payments and data analytics exposure. We also had specific errors of commission in Zoetis and Workday, both of which have now been exited. We would categorise our exit from Marvell Technology in this category too.”
Marvell Technology, Inc. - June 2026
“Marvell Technology was particularly noteworthy.”
Marvell Technology, Inc. - June 2026
“Marvell Technology Inc. provides data infrastructure semiconductor solutions. The stock soared 203% on a combination of in-line results and higher forward guidance, driven by an improved outlook for its data center business. During a presentation at Computex in Taiwan in early June, Nvidia CEO, Jensen Huang, referred to Marvell as the next trillion-dollar company. In addition, inclusion in S&P 500 index effective June 22, added passive buying pressure. We trimmed back the position on strength.”
Marvell Technology, Inc. - June 2026
“Less than a year ago, shares of Marvell Technology Inc, which designs semiconductor chips focused on data infrastructure including networking, data centers and custom silicon, were under pressure as a function of underwhelming short-term guidance as well as investor concerns regarding competitive pressure specific to one large custom silicon customer. Following several discussions with the company, a trip to Asia to fully comprehend the competitive landscape, and our observation that optical networking was becoming increasingly tight across the AI chain, we concluded that the market was overstating these concerns and held our ground. The stock has climbed by more than 250% year-to-date, and by 200% in the second quarter alone. The company’s April quarterly report included a favorable outlook for the remainder of 2026 and into 2027-2028 driven by strengthening demand signals from some of its largest hyperscaler customers. Lastly, in early June at an industry conference, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang introduced Marvell Technology’s CEO with the endorsement, “this is the next trillion-dollar company, ladies and gentlemen.”2 This unprompted and surprising introductory comment helped lift Marvell Technology Inc’s shares by more than 30% the next day. We have been trimming our position during the second quarter on elevated valuation but continue to like the company’s growth prospects over the upcoming years, as we believe it maintains solid competitive footing in an industry that continues to accelerate.”
Marvell Technology, Inc. “Marvell Technology outperformed as they ramped shipments of their custom AI chip for Amazon and are working on designs for other customers including Microsoft. They are also seeing significant growth in connectivity products for AI data centers.”
Marvell Technology, Inc.- March 2026
“Despite the broad sell-off among large-cap growth stocks during the first quarter, three portfolio holdings demonstrated double-digit price appreciation – all within the semiconductor area. Consensus spend expectations for data center infrastructure continue to expand rapidly, particularly among the hyperscalers. During the first quarter of 2026, consensus estimates for 2026 and 2027 capital expenditures among Amazon (AMZN), Microsoft (MSFT), Meta (META), Alphabet (GOOGL) and Oracle(ORCL) cumulatively increased by 25% and 23% respectively, largely to support data center demand – inclusive of chips and related equipment. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSM), one of the world’s leading contract chip manufacturers and our largest active weight in the portfolio, saw both its 2026 and 2027 consensus EPS estimates climb by 15% during the first quarter driven by favorable management guidance and fundamental strength in its business. Marvell Technology (MRVL), which designs chips focused on data infrastructure including networking, data centers and custom silicon, also experienced meaningful positive revisions to 2026 and 2027 EPS consensus estimates on the back of management’s favorable outlook.”
