What smart money is saying about Safran
1 fund in our archive has pitched Safran — most recently Harding Loevner Global Developed Markets Equity in March 2026.
Safran S.A., a global leader operating within the aerospace and defense industries, maintains its headquarters in Paris, France, where it was established in 1924. The company's diverse operations are structured across three principal segments: Aerospace Propulsion; Aircraft Equipment, Defense and Aerosystems; and Aircraft Interiors. The Aerospace Propulsion division focuses on the design, development, production, and sale of advanced propulsion and mechanical power transmission systems. These systems are integral to a broad spectrum of aerial vehicles, including commercial airliners, military transport, training, and combat aircraft, as well as both civil and military helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles (drones). Additionally, this segment delivers comprehensive maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services and supplies critical spare parts. The Aircraft Equipment, Defense and Aerosystems segment provides essential systems and components for civil and military aircraft and helicopters. Its offerings encompass undercarriages and braking systems; engine subsystems such as thrust reversers and nacelles; sophisticated avionics, including flight controls and onboard information systems; and safety solutions like evacuation slides, emergency arresting systems, and oxygen masks. The division also engineers onboard computing and fuel systems, electrical power management solutions, optronic devices, sighting systems, navigation equipment, sensors, specialized infantry equipment, and drone technologies, alongside related engineering services and spare part sales. Lastly, the Aircraft Interiors segment is dedicated to the conception, development, manufacturing, and marketing of seating solutions for both passengers and crew. Its product range extends to various cabin elements, including overhead storage compartments, class dividers, passenger service units, complete cabin interior solutions, chilling units, galleys, electrical inserts, and trolleys for catering and cargo. This segment further supplies water distribution systems, lavatory modules, air conditioning setups, and cutting-edge in-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) systems.
