  • “Takeovers crystallising value OFX Group (ASX:OFX), a foreign exchange provider, announced in July that it had agreed to an all-cash takeover proposal from UK-based Equals Group at $1.00 per share. But Equals needed some time to conduct due diligence and line up funding before entering into a formal bid. Initially slated for four to eight weeks, the process has dragged out. By late September another extension to the timetable, this time to late-October, was agreed. The extension was paired with a downgraded operational outlook. Having traded as high as $0.83 per share after the bid, the price has since fallen to about $0.60 per share, implying a low probability of the deal completing. We continue to believe that OFX’s client base, platform and global licenses represent an attractive target for Equals and other would-be acquirers and have topped up the Fund’s holding.”
