“TOP DETRACTORS The PG&E 6% convertible preferred stock, Avianca 9.5% corporate bonds, and the Dye & Durham term loan were the portfolio’s worst-performing holdings for the quarter. Near the end of August, the California legislature shelved an anticipated wildfire bill that was expected to benefit PG&E. The news contributed to a decline in the company’s common stock. Avianca came under pressure in September amid concerns about rising jet fuel prices. The Dye & Durham term loan sold off after the company reported weaker-than-expected earnings and several senior executives were removed. The Fund no longer owns the Dye & Durham term loan.”

“Three companies detracted from our performance by approximately 450bps in the quarter, Sangoma Technologies Corporation (TSX:STC), Dye & Durham Limited (TSX:DND) and WELL Health Technologies Corp (TSX:WELL). Our investment theses remain intact on these companies and we continue to hold.”
