    September 2026
“The Versa Genesis fund rose 8.4% in September, while the IEEX, the index that tracks the electric power sector, rose 6.3%. The main positive contributions came from Sabesp and Copel. Sabesp recovered from the previous month's decline that we explained in the last letter, and Copel, like other companies in the sector, benefited from a closing of the real interest rate curve during the month. The closing of real interest rates had been happening since July, but, in our opinion, it was not reflected in the assets in August due to many uncertainties about the presidential elections. The real interest rate for 2030 fell from 8.12% to 7.62% in the month of September*. It is worth remembering that real interest rates remain at the same level as at the beginning of the year and have good room to retreat in a slightly more benign fiscal scenario. The fund responds to the fall in the real interest rate with leverage, and September showed this. The fund's main positions remain CPFL, Copel and Sabesp.”
